The Booster Experience!
EVERYTHING we do is volunteer. We staffed dozens of sporting event concessions, annual Victory Supper, organized sports signings and the manage Hall of Fame voting and selection.
Meetings are third Wednesday every month, at Pizza Shoppe in Platte City. Check Facebook for updates, agendas and cancellations. Though we keep it low-key and fun, detailed minutes are taken and maintained and decisions decided by popular vote.

Volunteering
- We use Sign-up Genius to schedule and track all volunteer hours. The link is below and on the website.
- Participation. As reminder , as a booster we expect each family to participate in staffing the concession stands. Absolutely, don’t miss your kids play. But, we expect football parents to help cover winter sports and baseball/softball. By the same token, those parents can help on Friday nights. JV parents can work Varsity games and vice versa. There are plenty of shifts through the year, most only a couple hours of your time. Grab your spouse, best friend or reluctant teen. It’s the easiest thing you’ll do all week.
- Friday Night Lights. It’s especially important for Friday night football, by far and away our largest fundraiser. (Friday’s require a staff of 12.) For instance, its common to gross over $5k each home game. Big games with big traveling fan bases (read Kearney, Smithville, etc) you’re going to push that closer to $10k. We pay wholesale for food and drink but packaging and other items are donated by our amazing local sponsors ( Sonic, Price Chopper, Ferrel Gas for grill propane) which adds to out bottom line. In short, our funding for ALL Pirates sports grants originate from our Friday night volunteering. Make sure we keep those Friday slots filled.
- Represent your sport When you volunteer concessions, rep your player’s sports. We like to see Volleyball hoodies as the football game and football t-shirts in the volleyball stand. Show your Pirate pride and show how the individual sports one another.
- Staffing. Most of our Booster Club board turns over at the end of this school year. (Seniors!) Please consider serving this school year and stepping into some of those roles. It’s a lot of fun to see the behind the scenes of PCHS sports and get direct access to the coaches and staff.
- Follow us Key sites are below. Twitter is the best one. (and a great way to follow all Pirates sports; so much going on all the time). The website is your one-stop shop for social media, signups, volunteering, gear etc. We are keeping that updated now. Email is monitored by board (not bored) members. Never hesitate to drop us a line.
